It's a publisher file and I can't save it as anything other than that. If it's too modern I can save it as an old style publisher file.

Another way of opening a publisher file if you don't have the software is to download rather than open the file. Then go along to zamzar.com (such a useful site) and upload the file to be converted into a pdf file. Very useful site for converting word docs into pdfs and youtube swf vids into mp4 files.
